ECU COMPARISON

Fully in a league all it’s own with class leading features and functions that no other engine management system can match

You already know the Taco Moto GET is the best ECU platform in dirtbiking today

Unique maps created by Taco Moto developed with our tuning partner Derek Harris from HP Racing and the engineering staff at Athena Italy, test ridden by Mike Spurgin and a team of riders all over the American west from Baja, Colorado, Canada and all points in between.

The ultimate ECU for light ADV and dual sport users

This is the most sought after ECU by vet riders, adventure seekers, racers, stunt riders, snow bikers, flat trackers, Baja 1000 champions, weekend warriors and all riders in between.

Better Low end, Better Mid Range, Better Top End, Better Everywhere

The most adaptable, configuragle, customizable and functional dirt bike ecu there's ever been.

Trusted by American Honda Racing to power all three of their bikes in 2023 to all three championships ridden by Jet Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence and Chase Sexton. A record in Supercross racing history and all in it's introductory year. Put that same power and capability in your bike.

Traction control that lets you ride greasy, snotty, sketchy terrain with confidence and ease up that vice-grip hold on the bars and relax. Makes riding a bike more fun because of more control and smoother power. Ride longer days, feel less fatigue, take years off your body because the bike is now working for you instead of against you.

Better power for better control and a better ride.

Completely eliminates that snappy, erratic, choppy power of the stock L and RL

The Taco Moto SX1 GET system will turn your machine into the most powerful, adaptable and smoothest running bike you’ve ever ridden. No question. And if you don't think so we'll buy it back.

It matters where you get your ECU and there’s no better shop to work with than Taco Moto. Read the reviews out there, see what other riders and racers are saying about us and you’ll see who has you back when it comes to bike performance and tuning products

Rider Feedback:

'Setup was very easy, pretty much plug and play with a TPS calibration. Very simple. Right away I could feel how smooth the engine braking and on/off throttle response was. I’ve ridden a vortex bike and mine is so much smoother with the SX1. Def more power is higher gears like 5th and 6th. I wanted to sell my CRF450L because of how choppy it used to feel. 100% worth the price in my opinion as I’m used to purchasing standalone ecu’s like fuel tech etc on my drag bikes

The GET SX1 completely transformed the riding experience of my bike. Feels like it should have been from the factory. Ultra smooth throttle response, very predictable throttle inputs without a throttle tamer. Engine braking is very soft and smooth now. Also the power is definitely increased in the higher gears. Worth the money. This should be everyone’s first mod.'

'This ecu is smooth!!!  Power delivery is so good, very predictable, linear, etc and the app is awesome, the ability to see diagnostics, alter tunes etc is great. I can see it coming in very handy if somewhere that only low octane fuel is available.'

'I’m in Shreveport La with 105* days and lots of humidity and I’m comparing the TacoMoto SX1 on a 2019 with a Vortex and Yoshi pipe on it now and flameout is still an issue although better than stock the Vortex still had the issue and the random stall at speed.

The GET on my 2022 RL has been awesome and all the issues that the Vortex 2019 have with flame out and stalls are not there. The GET is hands down better so far with my experience, did a TON of research and landed on the GET and decided to get it from TM.

I chose Taco Moto because I said in the beginning, there was a high likelihood I’d need to make adjustments or ask questions. They offered that. I don’t know them personally but I looked into their company and these are TRUE motorcycle people. With that I assume they would understand the frustration and urgency in correcting issues better than a customer service representative who may not ride or be as heavily involved in the dual sport world.

Also ordered the full Yosh exhaust to do at the same time. I’ll be reporting back my experience with the whole process.'

'I felt a nice bump in power for sure, like 5-10hp which is significant for a dirt bike. The GET definitely made the throttle a lot better and smooth and I like how you can just barley crack the throttle on a hwy ride and its just butter smooth. It feels much better and I was really pumped about the extra power. The bike feels right now and has the power that it should and doesn't flame out.

GET SX1 is hands down the way to go. It has the best reviews and the best features and it is future proof at this time. Better gas mileage, better power, more features, no gas in your oil, excellent support from Taco Moto, app tuneabillity, etc.

The GET had much better reviews according to the youtube videos I watched and general feedback on facebook The choice is clear.

Taco Moto is the best and knows this product the best so buying from them is the way to go. Mike helped me dial my ecu in and the shipping process was outstanding. Bike has way more power now and I don't have any flameouts or jerky throttle. Paired with the Graves exhaust. Outstanding!'

‘Alright, did a 250mile section of the Tat today from arkansas into Oklahoma. I switched out my vortex for the new tacomoto athena get sx1 and holy cow what a difference.

everything about the engine and throttle response is so much smoother and the fuel mileage compared to the vortex is over 10mpg better. im happy I made the switch. thanks tacomoto.co for the awesome mapping in this thing.

My old vortex is still for sale if anyone is interested’

“Wow! Wow! Wow! I’ve had the new GET SX1 with tacomoto.co maps for over a month now. This past weekend I had the opportunity to give it a thorough testing and all I can say is Wow! Yes, it is that much better than the RX1.

I’ve previously owned the Vortex, AIM, and the GET RX1. None of those had the power or performance of the GET SX1. Super clean idle, buttery smooth transition off idle and POWER everywhere! I was doing 4th gear power wheelies with no clutch, just twist the throttle and shift your weight. And power down low too. I was in 6th gear and lugged it down to 25mph and just twist the throttle and it picks right up… no stuttering whatsoever.

I’ve never experienced an ECU this good, period.”

”Hey guys so I just got around installing the new sx1 and took the bike for a rip! WWWWWOOOOOWWWW this bike feels like a new animal! The vortex is nothing compared to this new Taco GET unit!

The setup with WiFi is awesome!super easy to set your tps and idle and your riding. I’m so glad I bought the WiFi unit because my tps was was off only giving throttle to 86 not 100. If anyone is looking to get an ecu I highly recommended this unit. Also I ordered it last Friday and it showed up Monday super fast shipping! I hope this helps some of you on decision making. I got it directly from Tacomoto’

"I switched to the get SX1 one from Taco Moto was thoroughly impressed. An we recently switched my buddies bike from the Vortex to the GET SX1 and now have a Vortex for sale. His mile per gallon improved greatly and he has much improved linear power.  The traction control is amazing for our riding style."

"Hello,

Just recently purchased and installed the GET SX1 with WiFi Comm and Traction Control knob on my 2019 CRF 450L with full Yoshimura exhaust system, and oh my gosh what a difference!!  I previously had the Vortex ECU and it was a big improvement over the stock ECU, but the SX1 by Taco Moto is lightyears ahead.

This is the smoothest running bike I believe I have ever owned/ridden.  After a couple weeks of riding on-road and offroad here in Tennessee, I can say that this has totally changed my riding experience.  The bike is so much more controllable, definitely more responsive, and doesn't have the snappy on/off throttle like before.

The WiFi Comm and GET app are an added bonus that is just "icing on the cake"!  Great work by the Taco Moto Team on this ECU!"

“Comparing the Taco Moto GET sx1 ECU to a vortex with standard maps:
I'll start by saying I was never really unhappy with the performance from the vortex, the power maps left some to be desired, but overall the bike ran great and I was happy. I upgraded to address some issues with the vortex (poor fuel economy, fuel in oil, random shut downs). In the end I got more than I was looking for.

Starting - They are about equal here. Both started easily when cold and both take a little longer to start when hot.

Before even getting into the maps, there is something about the sx1 that make the throttle feel more connected with the bike. I've seen other reviews call it 'crisp'. I think it feels like there is less latency from throttle input to the bike reacting. It's like going from 56k to cable for online gaming. Whatever is actually happening, it's noticeable before even taking the bike off the stand.

Power Map: I didn't really love the vortex power maps. The bike ran fine, but now I see what I was missing. My favorite vortex map was 'best power on dyno' I think it felt the most peppy, but now the bike actually feels like a 450. The change in low and mid power is huge. It's a lot more responsive and comes on way harder off the bottom. There is a little more up top, but it still signs off a little early. Probably need a cam if you want more up there, but it's plenty for me. The throttle has more of that snatchy feel that a lot of people don't like, but it's how I expect a 450 to behave: you open the throttle - we're moving. Very impressed.

Enduro Map: I actually really liked the vortex enduro map, all of the maps were very similar with mellow easy power, and the enduro map was the best - nice lug-ability down low. The Taco sx1 enduro map is the same but even smoother. I never really felt the traction control doing anything, but I did feel like finding traction was easier in some of the tougher slippery climbs. I'll have to get more time on the bike to appreciate this map more, but for now I'll just say it's smooth as butter and a step up from the vortex again. Very easy to modulate power, easy to find traction, and mellow.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the upgrade. I'm beyond impressed with the performance increase. It's not just a little better, it's like a whole new bike. Add to that the map switch actually make a huge difference in the way the bike runs and it's like having 2 bikes in 1 now.

A note on fuel economy: It's early to say anything with certainty as I only have about 4 hours on the new ECU, but I did a similar ride last weekend with the vortex and I am seeing a pretty significant increase. vortex 27mpg, sx1 32 mpg. I'll report back after I've got a few longer dual sport rides in with more data. Best I ever saw on the vortex was 49 at high elevations most pavement. Typical dual sport MPG was 40-45 and typical trail riding MPG was 23-28.

Thanks Taco Moto!”

”We ditched the vortex for the GET tuned by Mike Spurgin at Tacomoto and it was night and day along with a throttle tamer on the 2019. Just got back from doing 1264 miles on the NMBDR and averaged 55mpg with a 40lb load of camping gear.”

"I have been watching all the Youtube videos out there about all the ECU's and it just seems like the guys I trust and like the most like John Young and Born-a-goon are saying the GET is the best ecu they've ridden on the RL. So what the hell, I swapped out the Vortex for the Taco ECU and let-r-rip, and sonofabitch if they aren't right. My bike pulled harder, cleaner and higher than it did before, and the map 2 is like a cheat code to technical off road riding. I'm convinced now myself and I should start a YouTube channel up and talk about mine too."

"Insane, the improvement to this bike is beyond belief. I've gone from thinking that I made a huge mistake buying this bike because it turned out to be such a dog, to laughing and cheering everytime I ride it now. I took Taco's advice that the SX GET and a Graves muffler system would change my mind about this thing and I rolled the dice and went for it and they were one million percent right. This is now my all time favorite Baja ripper unit. When a fat guy from Missouri passes you in Mexico laughing and waving, that's just me having the time of my life on my new fav bike"

"I'm not the kind of person to sit down and rite a product review letter but this is one time that I need to do it for this GET Taco ECU unit. When I bought an RL in 2021 the dealer sold me on the Vortex ECU and I was happy with it until it started shutting off on me on the highway in traffic all on it's own. The first time was in a merge lane with heavy traffic and I nearly got rear ended. Since then it's done it like five more times and each time I'm scared and pissed at this bike and want to sell it. Reading in the Honda forums I found out lots of guys have the same issue on the Vortex and I saw a guy in my town who traded up to a GET from Taco Moto so out of desperation to get my bike working right I bought it and the improvement is immediate and noticeable how much smoother and cleaner the power is now. My bike is easier to ride, makes better starts and never cuts out or leaves me stranded. If you have an RL like me you want this ECU. Hope this helps someone else out there like it did me."
