Is this the best skid plate ever made? Probably. 

More coverage less weight, no denting or deflection, the best 'slide-ability' of any plate out there.

These new design and material skid plates are made from Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMW)

Never heard of it? Neither did we until we checked it out on the google. Turns out it’s some pretty rad stuff that’s got really unique properties. It’s self lubricating in similar ways to Teflon, it’s up to 15 times more abrasion resistant than carbon steel, and won’t warp or bend under impact  

Besides skid plates you’ll find UHMW made into artificial knees and hips, bullet resistant armor plating in military applications, the bottoms of skiis and snowboards and tons of other industrial and commercial applications where the toughest non metallic materials are needed.

spun into fibers it has a strength to weight ratio of 8 to 1 over steel and is made into climbing rope and webbing, parachute cords, ship rigging ropes, fishing line, archery bowlines.
