The Dirt Tricks Front Sprocket is built from an ultra-hard tool steel. Most front sprockets sold today are "case hardened", meaning that only a thin outer layer of steel is hardened. Below that layer is soft steel. Dirt Tricks front sprockets are heat treated, giving them the ultimate toughness and wear resistance. How can they have such a hard material without it being brittle? Shock resistant tool steel is the answer. This is the same steel used to punch holes through 1" thick plates of steel, on high speed punch presses.
- One year wear guarantee.
- Made from high grade shock resistant tool steel.
- Machined to the tightest industry standards.
- Special "through" hardening process for ultimate toughness and longevity.

The Zirconium Rear Sprockets are part of Dirt Tricks' latest sprocket design and are a revolutionary change from traditional sprockets in both weight and color. Dirt Tricks Zirconium Sprockets are extremely lightweight compared to all other twin-ring designs—aluminum on the inside and steel on the outside—and have six times the lifespan of most aluminum sprockets. The new zirconium coating on these sprockets reduces friction up to 50%, gives your bike a trick look, and increases durability so much that Dirt Tricks offers a 2-year wear warranty.

Dirt Tricks testing has determined that the OEM dome washer is made of mildly heat treated material. When that component is installed under a tightened counter-shaft bolt, it is taken well beyond it’s "yield" or "elastic" limit and permanently deforms. In that condition in cannot maintain the thrust pressure necessary to keep the sprocket tight to the splined shaft. That leads to two different failures. First, as described above, the O-ring is allowed enough clearance that it begins seeping. Secondly, the backlash between the splined shaft and sprocket is allowed to more freely pound in each direction, as the torque of power verses compression reverses itself.
Dirt Tricks has developed a tool steel, heat-treated dome washer that develops two to three times the pre-load force without reaching it’s elastic limit and without over-stressing the mating components. This solves O-ring leakage as well as extending the life of both the counter-shaft and sprocket splines. A counter-shaft replacement alone, with labor costs in excess of $700.
